Catholic Scripture Study

It's time register for our Wednesday morning Catholic Scripture Study (CSS).
Sign up now for our fall CSS class which starts on Oct 3rd.  We will be doing a 28-week study of the Gospel of Luke. Students are asked to do home study, answering questions about the Scripture and how to apply it to their lives. The text connects the Scripture to the Catechism and the writings of the Holy Father. We learn firsthand how our Catholic faith is rooted and nourished by the Holy Bible.

The Wednesday morning class meets weekly from 9:30 to 11:15 through mid-May, with vacations when school is out. The first part of the class has a DVD summary lecture. The last part of the morning is spent in small groups, discussing the homework questions. Class fee is $79.95 and scholarships are available. Early bird reg. fee is $74.95 before June 20th.

There is Child Care offered. For further information about CSS, and to sign up for the class, call Cindy Kodis 251-3930 or email rckodis@gmail.com.

EVENING BIBLE STUDY

Register now to join our next evening Bible study beginning September 12th, 2018.

All are invited to the upcoming Turning to God’s Word Catholic Bible Study “Thus Says the Lord: God Speaks Through His Servants the Prophets." The study examines the biblical prophets in historical context. Part 1, "A Kingdom Divided,” consists of  28 lessons that begin with the call of Samuel and a look at the Old Testament prophets who were spiritually active in the kingdoms of Judah and Israel before the Babylonian captivity.  It explores how the messages of such prophets as Nathan, Elijah, Elisha, Zephaniah, Nahum, Habakkuk, and Jeremiah prepared the way for the good news of Jesus’ Gospel message.

The study material is written by Jennifer McGaw Phelps and Matthew Phelps. A sample lesson can be viewed at www.turningtogodsword.com under the “Thus Says the Lord” study directory located under TtGW studies.

Classes meet every Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30 pm in the St. Augustin School library beginning on Sept. 12, 2018 and ending on May 1, 2019. The cost of the study book and use of the library is $69.95.

Contact Emily Duong at emiaduo@aol.com or 515-480-9303 if interested.
