Confirmation preparation at St. Augustin begins in 9th grade and ends with the Rite of Confirmation at the end of 10th grade. It is a two-fold process: (1) at-home preparation with sponsor and family, and (2) monthly small group meetings with peers and an adult table leader. Because the sponsor-candidate relationship is such a crucial part of the preparation process, candidates must have their sponsor chosen before the first monthly small group meeting. Resources are sent home at the beginning of each month to foster discussion and prayer about a specific topic between the candidate, his/her sponsor, and his/her family and friends. This at-home preparation portion should be completed before the candidates come together for their monthly small group meeting. In these monthly meetings, we join together for prayer, fellowship, and small group discussion.

In addition to this, all Confirmation candidates are expected to volunteer with Confirmation "Shoebox" service project that takes place in November. They are also expected to attend a retreat at the end of their preparation process / before their Confirmation in 10th grade.
